Our rooms

Our rooms are simple but well thought out: every one has a private bathroom, fast Wi-Fi, double-glazed PVC windows and Flexilan® mattresses with memory foam toppers for a proper rest. Rooms come in several shapes – singles, doubles, triples and quads – some with a private balcony, and all decorated with prints and artwork by local artists

About us

Tomato Urban Retreat is a sustainable urban retreat in the heart of San Salvario, the most multicultural neighbourhood in Turin. With 19 individual rooms and shared spaces opening onto a private garden, it offers a genuine alternative to conventional hospitality: a place where relationships matter, where sustainability is daily practice, and where the neighbourhood is part of the experience. Two minutes from Porta Nuova station — since 2011.

Frequently asked questions

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 14:00 to 20:00, check-out by 11:00. Once you have checked in, your own code lets you in 24 hours a day.

When is reception open?

Every day from 8:00 to 20:00.

Is there a city tourist tax?

Yes: €1 per person per night, up to a maximum of 7 nights, paid at the property.

Is breakfast included?

No, it is paid separately and the price depends on what you have.

Is there a kitchen? And a laundry?

The shared kitchen is open 24 hours a day, and so is the laundry. The €10 token (washer plus dryer) is collected at reception between 8:00 and 20:00.

Are the dorms mixed? Is the bathroom private?

Shared dorms are mixed. All 21 rooms have a private bathroom.

Can I bring my pet?

No, pets are not allowed.

Are children welcome?

Yes, at any age, including in shared dorm beds. They stay free until their third birthday; from age 4 they count as adults.

Do you take groups?

Yes, from 10 people upwards, with a minimum stay of 2 nights.

Is the coworking space open to everyone?

It is free for guests staying with us. For non-guests it costs €5 per day.

Tomato Urban Retreat is a lively hostel with coworking spaces in Turin (and soon in Rome too), offering accommodation, shared desks, cultural events and community-driven experiences.
